Thxgathering in the Park

Inspired by The Valley of Change in Sherman Oaks, the Valley Justice Coalition (VJC) is putting on a “Thxgathering Lunch in the Park.” We will be providing full Thanksgiving meals to our houseless neighbors from 12p-2p on Thanksgiving Day. We invite you to join us, and share in our community of food and live music provided by local artists.
Thanksgiving represents the idea of community unlike that no other American holiday, and mutual aid is a founding pillar of the our work at VJC. We believe that small gatherings such as this can be done safely, especially for those not in high risk Covid populations.
We are asking members of our community to help provide the following:
a large dish for us to divide and share
donations of travel size toiletries
winter hats/beanies/gloves
PPE (masks and gloves)
Our team will be collecting all items from 10am-10:30am on Thanksgiving Day.
Drop off will be a contact-less point right across the street from the park.
All volunteers will be required to wear masks and gloves.
Use the donation link above to sign up to provide food, toiletries, or special request winter clothing.
Please do not bring non-requested items.
